Children entering Kindergarten in August and their families are invited to roundups at our elementary schools to receive important information about entering school. The AEF is intended to help RISD accomplish its mission of all students achieving at high levels. The framework contains the following key components that will be deployed over the next several years:
- Effective Instructional Strategy training (EIS) based on research and best practices.
- The development of Power Standards.
- The use of curriculum maps.
- The implementation of performance descriptors at each grade level and exit outcomes that identify performance standards & academic targets.
- The deployment of in-process measures and assessments that inform instruction.
- A system of student support; a process of providing behavioral/academic support as needed through prevention, intervention and remediation services.
