04/26/2010 Donald Wright Memorial Scholarship seeks applicants
The Donald Wright Memorial Scholarship organization is making an award this year to a Rock Island senior track athlete based on their application provided to the Rock Island guidance department. The applications will be evaluated by the five member board and be awarded based on majority vote of this board. We are seeking applicants for the 2010 scholarship with a deadline of May 10, 2010. Also, the board is seeking contributions as an ongoing method of maintaining the fund balance. Any questions please contact Jeff Edwards.
03/05/2010 Classmates Monthly Social
We are planning to start a casual "get together" at the Blue Cat Brew Pub (2nd floor) in downtown Rock Island. Plans are to meet on the 1st Wednesday of each month with a start time of 6:30 PM. The 1st "get together" will be Wednesday April 7th, 2010. Plan to come and have fun!
02/22/2010 - Its Final - 60th Birthday Plans
It starts on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 7:30 PM. We'll be attending the Rocky vs Moline football game at the Rock's stadium. After the game we'll gather at Huckleberry’s Great Pizza & Calzones, located at 223 18th Street, downtown Rock Island.
On Saturday, September 18, 2010, we'll continue the weekend activities at Jumers Casino and Hotel located at 777 Jumer Drive, Rock Island with a social hour from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. followed by a buffet meal. After the meal a short program and an auction will take place. Finally talking and reminiscing to midnight.

10/12/2009 - UPDATE - 60th Birthday Plans
We still strongly think it'll be Sep 17, 2010. Our plans so far are a football game Friday night followed by going to Huckleberry's 223 18th St, Rock Island. Saturday night at Jumers Casino/Hotel located off of I-280 and Hwy 92 in Rock Island. We have a room reserved for a banquet meal. Stay tuned!
09/24/2009 - 60th Birthday Party Plans
Mark your calendars for our next "Class of '68" Birthday Party at which we will be celebrating 60 years (Oh my!). Date is tentatively set for September 17th and 18th, 2010! More details to follow.

I was asked to post the details for our "younger" classmates event. The details are as follows:
Aug 14/15 - Friday is out at the casino and it's a reservation thing, but Saturday night is down at Cabana's and it's open to anyone that would care to show up.
06/16/2009 - New RIHS1968 Facebook Group
We have created a RIHS1968 Facebook Group. Go to Facebook.com and if you don't land on our group page then search in upper right box for "RIHS1968" and join the group when you see the results! Several of your classmates have Facebook pages. This is another great way to stay hooked up.

The internet news group forum for all Rock Island High School folks has relocated from MSN to Lefora hosting. This is a free social group. Feel free to check it out, join and post pictures and comments.

Watch your Class of '68 web site for reunion photos, news, updates, and future plans. If we don't have your current email address, click on the "Contact" link and send it.
You may want to join the Rocks4ever internet group as a way of communicating with other RIHS grads that are group members. The group is moderated and it's free. One of the group's members, a Rocky grad, has created StillCruisinUSA.com that will take you trippin' down memory lane! Take the tour, its great.
Also, there are about 100ish classmates from Class of '68 that belong to Classmates.com. You can access some basic tools on this site for free but a small annual fee is required to maximize your experience.
