Rock Island's season ended at 19-10 in the IHSA Sectional Semi-Finals. The Rocks came out flat against the hot Titans and missed some easy scoring opportunities inside. Boylan took advantage and jumped to a 16-3 after one quarter and dictated things from that point. After leading by 24 at the break, Boylan got two quick scores to set the tone for the remainder of the game.

The Rocks, playing without injured starter Brian Maiden, only placed one player in double figures in scoring. DeAndre Randolph scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Alix Holliday scored 9 and had 8 boards. Andre Richardsdon scored 6 while Andrew Tarnow had 6 points and 6 rebounds.

Rock Island, seeded #3 in the Sub-Sectional, avenged a December loss to Freeport by beating the #2 seeded Pretzels for the Regional Championship. The Rocks started slowly in falling behind during the first quarter, but six points from Andrew Tarnow kept them within striking distance. DeAndre Randolph heated up from outside in the second quarter, hitting three trifectas, the last two at the end of the half to tie the game at 27.

Rocky started to gain some control in the third quarter behind 11 points from Randolph, but they could never shake Freeport. Rock Island got a lay-up from Alix Holliday at the horn to take a 43-41 lead into the final frame. The Rocks extended the lead to 48-41 early in the quarter, but the Pretzels would not go away. Freeport ended up tying the game at 53 with under 30 seconds to play. Rock Island set up a play after a time-out and were able to find Holliday in the lane who hit the 8 footer as the horn sounded.

Randolph paced the attack with 23 points while Holliday and Tarnow each added 10 points. Jeff Banks just missed double figures with 9. Holliday completed the double-double with 14 rebounds and Tarnow grabbed 6.

Rock Island advanced to the Regional Championship with a win over the host Panthers. The Rocks used three trifectas, two from Andrew Tarnow, in the first quarter to grab a 14-8 lead after the first eight minutes. Jeff Banks heated up in the second quarter, hitting three treys, with the last one beating the halftime buzzer to give Rocky a 10 point lead at the half.

The Rocks were able to sustain the lead most of the second half as the third quarter was a defensive battle. The fourth quarter came down to Rocky being able to hit their free throws. Banks paced the Rocks with 27 points, including an 11 of 13 effort from the free throw line. Tarnow added 11 points and Andre Richardson also hit double figures with 10 points. Marquis Rodgers hit two big three pointers in his seven points.

Rock Island completed a 10-0 run through the Western Big 6 with an exciting, hard-fought road win against rival Moline. The game was back and forth the entire game with neither team leading by more than six points. Jeff Banks's three at the buzzer gave Rocky a 19-16 lead after 8 minutes. They maintained a one point lead at the half, and Moline tied the game after three quarters, 45-45.

The game continued to seesaw with the Maroons grabbing a four point lead at 55-51 with under three minutes to go. The Rocks got consecutive baskets from Andre Richardson and DeAndre Randolph to tie the game. After Moline scored to lead by two with just over a minute left, Rocky hit one free throw to cut the deficit to one. After getting the ball back, Richardson hit a three for a 59-57 lead. The teams traded single free throws on two separate trips for the final score.

Rock Island was led in scoring by Randolph's 26 points while Banks chipped in with 13. Andrew Tarnow also reached double figures with 11 points while grabbing 5 rebounds. Brian Maided was the leading rebounder with 7.

Rock Island won this non-conference Senior Night game over Rochelle to finish the regular season with a 10-3 home record at the Fieldhouse this season. The Rocks, seeded #3 in the Sub-Sectional, won the battle with Rochelle, seeded #1 in the Sub-Sectional. It was a up-tempo, physical game from the start with the Hubs jumping to an early lead.  Rocky was able to tie the game late in the second quarter before Rochelle got a basket at the horn for a 41-39 lead at the break.

The third quarter was back and forth before Rocky took a 61-57 lead heading into the fourth. Andrew Tarnow scored 8 points to lead a balanced attack in the period. The Rocks took control in the fourth quarter and pulled away for the win.

Rock Island placed five players in double figures with DeAndre Randolph scoring 25 to lead the way. Tarnow and Brian Maiden each added 16 points while Alix Holliday (11) and Jeff Banks (10) also did some damage. Holliday capped off a double-double with 12 boards while Maiden collected 9 caroms.

Rock Island turned a close game in the third quarter into a win going away against the visiting Titans. Rocky missed a number of easy oppportunities in the first half as Tinley Park was able to go to the locker room trailing by five.

Midway through the third quarter, the Rocks started to make a run fueled by three dunks by DeAndre Randolph, two via the alley oop. After getting the lead to fifteen after three quarters, Rocky was able to put the game out of reach midway through the fourth.

Randolph paced a balanced attack with 14 points. Brian Maiden posted his second double-double of the weekend with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Alix Holliday added 9 points and 10 boards. Marquis Rodgers scored 9 off the bench while Jonathan Burnett added 8. Andrew Tarnow scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in the first half before being sidelined with a lower back injury. Jeff Banks dished out 6 assists while Tony Brooks passed for 4.

Rock Island faced an inspired Galesburg team on a night where Galesburg celebrated 100 years of basketball with a pre-game ceremony. After trailing 13-7 late in the first quarter, the Rocks went on a 21-0 run to lead 28-13 midway through the second quarter. The Silver Streaks wouldn't go away and cut the lead back to 33-27 at the half.

The Streaks continued to battle and eventually cut the lead to two points in the third quarter. It was a six point game after three quarters, but Rocky responded to the challenge and built the lead back to a comfortable margin and hit free throws down the stretch to ice the win.

DeAndre Randolph scored 23 points in leading the way. Andrew Tarnow scored 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Brian Maiden posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go alond with 3 assists. Jeff Banks ended with 9 points, 5 steals, and 4 boards.

Rock Island claimed this non-conference win with a strong second half performance. After a back and forth first half, the Rocks scored four points in the last thirty seconds of the half, concluded with a DeAndre Randolph dunk, to go up three at the half.

That momentum carried over to the second half as the Rocks built a 9 point lead over the Vikings after three quarters. Rocky showed excellent balance on the offensive end in the second half, and all five starters finished the game scoring double figures. Randolph (19), Andrew Tarnow (13), Brian Maiden (12), Jeff Banks (11), and Alix Holliday (10) all hit the double digit mark in points.

The Rocks forced 29 turnovers in the game, playing with a lot of energy on the defensive end. Holliday grabbed 8 boards while Randolph dished out 6 assists and Banks added 4.

Rock Island clinched sole possession of the 2005 Western Big 6 championship with a road win over East Moline. The Rocks jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter with Andrew Tarnow and DeAndre scoring six points apiece. Randolph added 10 more in the second quarter while Andre Richardson hit two big three pointers off the bench as Rocky opened a 15 point halftime lead.

The Panthers outscored Rock Island in the third quarter and then made a late run to get within 48-42. However, Brian Maiden answered with a layup and the Rocks held on for the win.

Randolph finished with 24 points while Maiden had a strong game with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Tarnow finished with 8 points and 6 boards.

Rock Island finished the home portion of the Western Big 6 season with a 5-0 record and clinched a tie for the Conference Championship with the exciting and hard-fought win over the Pioneers. Alleman lead for most of the first half, and built a nine point lead early in the third quarter. The Rocks started to find some offensive flow and a three pointer from Andrew Tarnow and two from Jeff Banks ignited the rally.

Rocky finally caught Alleman in the fourth quarter and took a two point lead on a conventional three point play from Tarnow. The Pioneers answered with a trey to go back up by one. Alix Holliday provided the heorics by scoring on an offensive putback to give the Rocks a 53-52 lead. A Tarnow free throw with 1.2 left on the clock provided the final margin as Rocky was able to tip away a long pass at the buzzer.

Banks scored 14 to lead the way with Holliday (12) and Tarnow (11) also hitting double figures. Brian Maiden added 9 points. Holliday just missed a double-double by grabbing 9 boards.

Rock Island dropped the non-conference game after leading 20-12 in the second quarter. The Rocks then went on a dry spell offensively to fall behind at the half and by as many as 12 at the end of the third quarter. Rocky then battled back to cut the lead to three points but could get no closer as the Rams closed out the game at the free throw line.

Jeff Banks scored 17 points while Brian Maiden was the only other player in double figures with 11 points.

Rock Island pulled out an exciting Western Big 6 win at home versus Quincy. The Rocks held the lead late until the Blue Devils came up with a steal and a basket to tie the game with 30 seconds left in the game. Rocky ran the clock down and DeAndre Randolph was fouled shooting a layup. He calmly sank both free throws for a two point lead. After getting the ball to half court and calling time out, Quincy was able to get a look at a three point shot that rimmed out at the horn.

Randolph scored 25 points to lead the way for Rock Island. Andrew Tarnow and Brian Maiden each scored 8 points. Tarnow, Alix Holliday, and Jonathan Burnett all contributed with strong defensive efforts in the paint.

Rock Island won an important Western Big 6 game on their home court against arch-rival Moline. The game was a defensive struggle in the first half with the Maroons leading19-16 at the half. Moline extended the lead to 23-18 early in the second half before the Rocks went on an 11-0 run to take a 29-23 lead, which ignited a 41 point second half performance.

With Rocky leading 34-29 late in the third quarter, the Rocks missed a shot but DeAndre Randolph followed for the tip in at the buzzer. Randolph then hit a three point shot out of the huddle to make the lead 39-29, and Moline would get no closer than nine points the rest of the way.

Randolph paced the Rocky attack with 22 points, 17 coming in the second half. Jeff Banks and Andrew Tarnow added 12 points apiece. Brian Maiden played an excellent all-around game. He only scored 6 points but played outstanding defense and added 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Alix Holliday tied for team honors in rebounds with 6.

Rock Island struggled to get this Western Big 6 Conference win over the Silver Streaks. Rocky led throughout the game, but the Streaks would never go away. Though Galesburg would threaten, the Rocks would build the lead back up to as many as ten.

Alix Holliday had a big game for Rocky, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 boards. Jeff Banks hit some big shots on his way to 15 points, and Andrew Tarnow had a good all-around game and scored 9 points. Brian Maiden had 5 assists.

Rock Island lost a tough non-conference battle to the host Bulldogs after having the game go into overtime. The Rocks were down 24-14 in the second quarter before ending the half on a 9-0 run to cut the lead to one point. Rocky started the second half with that same momentum to open a seven point lead at the end of three quarters. Andrew Tarnow paced the Rocks in that frame by scoring seven points.

The Rocks held the lead until late in the game when Batavia was able to tie it at 49. Rock Island could not score at the buzzer, and the game went overtime. The Bulldogs hit 10 of 12 free throws in overtime to seal the win.

Brian Maiden had a good all-around game and scored 15 points. Alix Holliday backed that with 14 points while Andre Richardson added 11. Holliday grabbed 9 rebounds and Maiden collected 8.

Rock Island ended the tournament at 2-2 with a win in their second game of the day. The game low-scoring and ragged at times, but the Rocks pulled away from a 31-31 game in the last 3:00 to get the win over the Indians.

Andrew Tarnow scored 11 points to pace the Rocks while Jeff Banks added 8. Andre Richardson, Alix Holliday, and Jonathan Burnett all added 6 points. Holliday collected 8 boards and Brian Maiden added 6.

Rock Island grabbed the lead in the first quarter and was able to control the game most of the way, leading by 16 points on a number of occasions. The Rocks' pressure turned the tide midway through the first period when the pulled away from the Mustangs.

Rocky had three players reach double figures with Andre Richardson scoring 16. Andrew Tarnow added 13 while Jonathan Burnett contributed 10 points. Tarnow grabbed 9 rebounds and Brian Maiden added 8 boards.

Rock Island suffered a tough loss in the consolation bracket to the #2 Seed from Montgomery, Alabama. The game was close throughout with Carver holding the largest lead of five points in the third quarter. The Rocks had a chance to win the game at the free throw line in regulation, but only hit one to tie the game and send it to overtime.

Rocky outrebounded the bigger Wolverines 30-20 for the game with Alix Holliday grabbing 9 to lead the way. Jonathan Burnett, Andrew Tarnow, and Jeff Banks each collected 5 boards. Banks scored 12 while Andre Richardson's 10 points and Tarnow's 8 helped the cause.

Rock Island gave themselves a chance to win after trailing at the half to the eventual tournament champions. Rocky lost leading scorer DeAndre Randolph to a foot injury early in the game and struggled to the locker room trailing 26-19, but did get 8 points in the second quarter from Andrew Tarnow.

However, the Rocks battled back in the third quarter to get back in the game. Brian Maiden was a spark in the third quarter, scoring 6 points. The Rocks finally caught the Braves to tie the game at 40. A three pointer by Andre Richardson brought the Rocks back to 44-43, and a potential game-tying three from Jeff Banks rimmed out with 30 seconds left. Mt. Zion was able to seal the game at the free throw line.

Tarnow scored 14 to lead the Rocks in scoring while Andre Richardson added 11. Tarnow completed a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Rock Island had a disappointing follow-up to Friday's big win in the fourth game of the Iowa-Illinois Shootout. The Rocks were cold from the floor most of the night, but were able to take an early lead with some good defense. However, the Knights started to take control in the second quarter, and grabbed a lead at the break. The game went back and forth until the middle of the final stanza when Assumption was able to take the lead. They were able to get to the free throw line, and hit 8 of 10 in the fourth to seal the win.

DeAndre Randolph paced the Rocks with 23 points. Andre Richardson hit for 12 off the bench. Alix Holliday grabbed 7 boards while Brian Maiden also collected 7 boards to go with 6 assists.

Rock Island moved into sole possession of the conference lead with a big win over East Moline. The Rocks were able to get the lead early on the hot hand of DeAndre Randolph, building it to nine points at the half on a nice feed from Jeff Banks to Alix Holliday. Rocky was able to get the lead into double figures early in the second half and keep it there the rest of the way, taking care of the ball and hitting free throws down the stretch to secure the win. The Rocks had one of their better defensive efforts of the season against the Panthers.

Rock Island's interior players, Holliday, Andrew Tarnow, Brian Maiden, and Jonathan Burnett, did an excellent job on the defensive end and controlling the boards. The big story of the night was Randolph's school record-tying 43 points. He was able to hit from the outside, get to the basket, and knock down free throws for his offensive outburst.

For the second consecutive Saturday the Rocks hit the road for a non-conference game. They jumped out on Freeport early before the Pretzels got the momentum and the lead in the second quarter. The Rocks struggled from the field the rest of the night and were outrebounded on the night so they could not regain the lead.

DeAndre Randolph scored 25 points to lead Rock Island while Jeff Banks added 14.

Rock Island played an exciting game with their crosstown rivals from Alleman. The game was close through three quarters before the Rocks started to pull away in the fourth quarter. The Pioneers made a furious rally behind some long three pointers, and finally tied the game at the horn on a putback of a half court shot.

In overtime, Rocky grabbed the early lead on a Brian Maiden steal and dish to DeAndre Randolph. Alleman would regain the lead, only to see Maiden tip in a missed shot for Rock Island with less than a minute remaining. Randolph paced the attack with 27 points, but the Rocks had four others reach double figures. Andre Richardson scored 15 off the bench while Jeff Banks had 12 and Alix Holliday 11. Maiden just missed a double-double with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Randolph also grabbed 9 boards.

Rock Island lost the non-conference road game to the state's #10 ranked team. The Rocks started out hot in building an early lead, with DeAndre Randolph scoring nine points in the opening frame. Richwoods, boosted by the return of their two best players from injury, cut the lead to two points before Andre Richardson hit a deep three at the buzzer to give the Rocks a five point lead at the half.

The Knights had started to get the home crowd going to gain momentum in the second quarter and just continued it into the third. Richwoods took the lead for good late in the period and held a six point lead after three. Rock Island was not able to make the plays in the final stanza to catch the Knights, who showed how strong they could be this year.

Richardson and Randolph paced Rocky with 15 and 14 points respectively. Andrew Tarnow added 9 points, while Jeff Banks added 8. Brian Maiden was the leading rebounder with 7.

Rock Island earned a big road win to open Western Big 6 conference play over the previoulsy unbeaten Blue Devils. The Rocks got off to a much better start than the previous game and took a 16-12 lead after the first eight minutes. DeAndre Randolph and Jeff Banks heated up from the outside in the second quarter to sustain that same lead at the half.

Rocky maintained the lead, but Quincy got to within two points in the last minute of the third quarter. However, after Randolph hit another hoop, Alix Holliday blocked a shot which led to Brian Maiden's transition basket to extend the lead to six after three. Rock Island put on a run to get the lead to 15 at one point, and hit some free throws to hold off the hosts down the stretch.

Randolph had a huge night, scoring 35 points. Banks was also solid at the point while dropping in 13. Andrew Tarnow scored eight while playing a solid game despite foul trouble. Holliday grabbed 5 rebounds and Maiden dished out 3 assists.

Rock Island lost their chance at the tournament championship by falling behind 15-0 to start the game and never really challenging the Blackhawks. Aurora West played outstanding defense and were precise on offense to put the game away early. They shot over 60% for the game while Rocky struggled from the field all night.

The Rocks got scoring from DeAndre Randolph (10), Jeff Banks (9), Andre Richardson (7), and 6 from Brian Maiden and reserve Marquis Rodgers. Maiden and Randolph each grabbed 6 rebounds.

Rock Island bounced back from the difficult loss in the afternoon to post an exciting win over the Mightymen. The Rocks were leading most of the game but could never pull away. Dunbar contnued to stay close to the Rocks, and took a one point lead with about one minute to play. Jeff Banks hit a big layup in the last 30 seconds to win the game for the Rocks. Missed free throws gave Dunbar a chance at a half court shot at the buzzer that fell just short.

DeAndre Randolph had a big game for Rocky, pumping in 26 points, including 5 three pointers. Although he was the only player to reach double figures, Jaff Banks (9), Andrew Tarnow (8), Andre Richardson (7), and Brian Maiden (6) all contributed to the scoring. Maiden added 9 rebounds and 4 steals, and Alix Holliday grabbed a team-high 13 boards, including two big ones down the stretch.
