The Chamber Singers
The Chamber Singers of Rock Island High School, one of six performing choirs, was formed 14 years ago and placed into the school day curriculum. Since that time, they have competed in State Contests, as both a Madrigal Choir and as a Jazz Choir, where they have received First Place in 12 out of 13 competitions. They also received the Superior Trophy for their competition at Great America in Chicago, and a Superior in 1999 at the North American Music Festival in New Jersey.

The Chamber Singers are in high demand as a performing group in the Quad Cities area, normally having over 30 performances a year. In addition, our music department has an award-winning band and orchestra. Music Theory and Music Appreciation are offered to all students. This year, Rock Island High School had choir members qualify for IMEA District and All State. The two top auditioned choirs, the Chamber Singers and the Symphonic Choir, traveled to New York for five days in March, 1999, to compete in the North American Music Festival, where they received a Superior rating.

The Symphonic Choir
The Symphonic Choir is an auditioned choir. They perform at all concerts and many competitions. In March of 1999, they traveled to New York to compete in the North American Music Festival. They received a Superior rating. During the holiday season, they may be seen on KWQC television.
