Greetings!
Welcome back to school! This first issue of TechLinks
will serve to remind you of the options available to
provide technology support to the teachers,
administrators and support personnel of the Rock Island
School District.
| Technology Help Desk |
 |
The technology department has an online help desk that
is staffed from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day
school is in session. Clicking once on the Live Help icon
will send a request to open a chat with a technician. We
are able to solve many computer problems while you're
online.

| Technology Tuesdays |
 |
Technology assistance will be available every Tuesday
afternoon from 3:30 - 5:30 in the Rock Island High
School Library. No advanced registration is necessary -
simply bring your technology questions and we'll do our
best to provide the answers. This is an excellent
opportunity for individual help with PowerPoint, Word,
Manila, email or any of the applications used throughout
the district.

| TroubleTrakker |
 |
Requests for technology assistance should be made
through TroubleTrakker. Entering your request online
enables us to to assign the problem to a technician
quickly and monitor the progress being made towards a
solution.
TroubleTrakker may be accessed from any computer
connected to the Internet. Therefore, if your computer
isn't working, the request for help can be entered on
another school computer or from your home computer.
If you need help connecting to TroubleTrakker, contact
the technology department at extension 234 to receive
directions and your account information.

| Technology Equipment |
 |
The district has digital cameras, digital video cameras,
desktop projectors, laptop computers and other
technology materials available for use in your
classroom. Most equipment may be borrowed for a two
week period. Desktop Projectors are limited to two
days.
If you are interested in borrowing equipment, first check the technology equipment calendar for availability. If the item you need is available, select "Add Event" on the calendar and submit your request. You may also send an email to Laura Hall to reserve the equipment.
