the link to the music lawsuit settlement site. Over half
of those that recieved TechLinks clicked on the link for a
possible $20 refund! This week we're introducing the
RISD41 FreeBAY site and hope it's equally popular.

This week the Technology Department is announcing a
new web site called RISD41 FreeBAY. The purpose of
this site is to list books, equipment, software and
supplies that are available in our office for classroom
use. The site includes an online submission form to
request items for your classroom.

| Technology Funding |
 |
The school district has been awarded $74,291 as part of
the Enhancing Education through Technology Program.
These funds will be used to provide an upgrade to the
computer lab at Edison Junior High School, a lab of 15
computers for Longfellow and Eugene Field Elementary
Schools, a stipend for building Tech Coaches, and
funding for technology workshops. A schedule of
workshops will be distributed soon.

| iBook Upgrades |

iBook users interested in upgrading from OS 9 to OS X
should register for an upgrade class. The class will
begin with instructions on upgrading your iBook. While
your computer is going through the upgrade process,
you'll be given hands on demonstrations of working in
OS X. The first class is scheduled for 3:45 - 5:45 on
Tuesday, March 4th in the high school library.
Enrollment is limited to 16 participants.
